There are a lot of things to consider when choosing to have a Web Site.

The following information should give you some ideas that you probably have not thought of yet.

The Basics

There are a lot of things to think about with a web site other than just a simple page with buttons and links.

First and most important is what type of website the client is wanting (you). There are three basic types of websites online.

Personal, E-Commerce, Commercial

Graphics & Images

Other types of websites are those that are simple with hardly any graphics and the complex websites utilizing extensive Flash graphics. Something else to think about are the graphic images you’re planning on having on the site. There are wide verities of graphics available online or by purchasing CD collections. However, the type of graphic you’re going to place on the site can depend on the way it is used. There are three main types of graphics that is commonly used for websites.

Jpg:

Gif :

Png:

Other than the above types of graphics you also have to consider whether or not you’re going to use "Thumb's" (smaller, sample pictures of the original) as well as normal pictures. At times people will make Thumb lists for the user to select from rather than posting the original picture on the page. This saves on speed as well as space on the page.

One thing to think about is whether or not your going to have your own graphics or have someone else make them for you. A lot of times a company can create or use graphics that they own themselves, rather than the client having to find graphics for the site. However, with something like that you will find yourself paying through the nose.

Java & Databases

Are you planning on having forms, log in's, message boards, or anything else using java scripts? well your going to need a database to keep track of the information.
